I loved the original track. I had it on repeat in the office for a few days, but I felt like it was missing that extra umph to really hit on a dancefloor. I decided to rework it into a bouncier, four-on-the-floor house remix that could slot into any club set. There wasn’t a deep creative epiphany here, I just wanted to challenge myself to make something more club-ready and high-energy. I’d been rinsing a lot of ATRIP and Salute in the weeks leading up to it, and this was my way of channeling that fast-paced, garage-tinged groove into something of my own.
The entire remix came together in just four hours after work. I was bouncing in my seat while making it, and that’s exactly how I want people to feel when they hear it. It’s the kind of track I’ve always wanted to make, and this was a moment where it all just clicked.
Influences-wise, ATRIP, Salute and Disclosure were in the DNA of this one. A shoutout to Darby, who I had a tutorial call with last spring. He drilled into me that tight drums are everything, and he was right.
This is an unofficial remix (for now). I’d love to get it on Spotify but I’ve got some hoops to jump through first. In the meantime, it’s out there because I wanted to move fast, while the moment felt right and the meme was flying.
If this is your first time hearing my stuff, welcome. This sound is what I want to keep exploring. Hope it keeps you moving.
